Abstract latex on canvas painting with vibrant pink brushstrokes sweeping across a deep purple background. The contrast between the bold pink and dark tones creates dynamic energy, embodying the essence of contemporary abstract art.

Attempting to make art with new unfamiliar materials can be a challenge. All I wanted was to make something expressive and beautiful and the medium was testing and channeling me. I was frustrated, nearly angry, and so I took the two canvases I was working on, placed them face together on the floor, and proceeded to stomp on them until I felt better and more at peace.

I didn’t care if I ruined them, but I hoped not to- I just wanted to make something beautiful- I can’t say I failed or succeeded, that would be your decision to make.
