Abstract acrylic on canvas painting split in two. Left side features dark tones with a geometric shape resembling a skyscraper, while the right side shows soft yellow and blue tones, evoking a beach scene under a bright sky in contemporary artwork.

I once heard that NYC and LA are the same city. I didn’t understand at first because to me all I saw was sunshine and glamour on the west coast compared to the rough and gritty city I was living in. What I came to see is that underneath the facade is the same type of human. In NY if someone says “Lets do lunch” it’s with a furrowed brow and a seriousness, an importance. Whether or not lunch ever happens is tbd, but probably unlikely. In LA this interaction takes on a different hue. “Lets do lunch” is spoken in upbeat happy cadence, with sparkly eyes and bountiful love, but once again, lunch is unlikely.
